What object do you always have with you when traveling and why?
I am a bit of a stickler when it comes to travelling; normally I’m only toddling around in the UK but I’m definitely a just-in-caser and panic check everything when I’m about to leave. One of the most important things to make sure I’ve got is always my bank card as I may need it to buy emergency supplies! I think (sadly enough), that one thing I always make sure to have with me is a spare pair of pants. The one time I didn’t pack a spare pair was definitely also the one time that Hairy and I stayed an extra day.
I like to have my pocket knife with me as well, as that’s always handy and a book. I don’t like to get bored! Hairy tells me off, but I often take my craft box as well so I can get on with my latest project.
What subject would you like to study in depth, if given the time to do so?
I have no idea. I’m much happier just skimming the tops of different subjects, hence why I’ve signed up to a couple of different free college classes online. I’m going to be studying brain and spatial awareness, forensic science and a few other things. Can’t remember what!
Which would you prefer: a wild, turbulent life filled with joy, sorrow, passion, and adventure–intoxicating successes and stunning setbacks; or a contented bordering on happy, secure, predictable life surrounded by friends and family without such wide swings of fortune and mood?
I’d rather have a wild and turbulent life. Predictability would be nice, and possibly something I’d like in the future but right now I’d rather be off adventuring with both the highs and the lows. I don’t think I know anyone who’d like “contented bordering on happy” – you wouldn’t even be happy! Just not sad enough to make you feel like it’s worth it to change.
What are your favorite spices?
Smoked paprika is a firm favourite in our household, as is black pepper! One of my favourites is cumin, and Hairy would cry if we didn’t keep some form of chilli around.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Grateful from the last week: I am grateful for good friends. I don’t always feel like I do enough for them, but I definitely appreciate all the people who are there for me. And I’m definitely grateful for the bank holiday which means I actually got to spend some decent time with Hairy!
Looking forward to in the next week? I’ll be emailing a prospective employer either today or tomorrow, so I’m hoping to hear back from them.
