Last night was the first Guides night that I’d run and organised at that unit since I’ve been going there. It went well – didn’t do everything that we’d planned to, but they seemed to all have a good time 🙂 There was a lot of apple bobbing and lots of shrieking, which seems to indicate a good evening! Hairy took Pops to the pub last night while Mops came with me to Guides, so they met us from the bus all giggly and slightly sloshed.
It’s been lovely having Hairy around again during the day, even if it’s only for the week. When we first started dating, he didn’t have a job and so we spent all our time together while I was working and he’d walk me to university. I’ve missed having him around this much, being able to walk together and giggle like little children while jumping in leaves. He’s finally learned my phone number! We spend a while playing silly games earlier, and now he’s trying to put me writing this off by tickling me.
I’m really supposed to be doing some more seminar work for tomorrow, but I’m having some time off. I’ve been working all morning and the lecture I had today was dull as ditchwater. It always irritates me that now I’m a grown up multi-disciplinary scholar (yippee!) I end up criticising my lecturer in my head because they’re specialists in a subject that doesn’t relate to my degree and don’t think about Vikings!
Enough for now, packing and Viking books call my name.
