Doing my Christmas shopping online is both a blessing and a curse. It’s much cheaper so I can buy more things for people, but it’s also harder because I can’t pick items up and have a proper look at them and decide like that. It’s a bit of a gamble that sometimes pays off and sometimes doesn’t. Plus there’s the whole tricky thing about delivery times… How do you do your shopping? In person or online?
Hairy has bought me the most adorable Christmas present – it’s a little advent house that we can keep using each year and he’s put 25 things he loves about me into each door, so today I got “I love the way you look with your hair up”. It makes me really happy in the mornings to get one of those 😀
The Hobbit is out very soon! I wish I could see it sooner, but I’m going to go with friends next Thursday and I’m very excited. I’m planning to re-read it beforehand so that I go in with geekery under my belt 🙂
Dissertation draft is in, I only have the meeting tomorrow and then it’s the end of the term and no more teaching! I need to get a wiggle on with other essays though, so still no rest for the wicked.
Have you found that the run up to Christmas is way more full of socialising than you would have believed possible? Last weekend we had a night with work friends, a house party and then Hairy and I went to Loughborough for board games. This weekend I’m meeting up with a friend Saturday afternoon, before Christmas dinner with Hairy’s brother (I’m making stuffing for it because apparently I make a cracking stuffing :D), we’ve also got a gig to go to at some point soon and then it’s Monday again. I want a weekend off so I can sit and swot!
Sorry to have been so absent, but my life’s been full of dissertation writing and obligatory social events where I haven’t even managed to get my camera out. I’m hoping to get back into the swing of things because I’ve missed my blogging and keeping in touch with all you lovelies!
