Finally done on the essays, just a bit more on seminar preparation and then I’m done for this term! It’s only been something like eight weeks long, but it’s been intense and stressful and I’m shattered. Really looking forward to going down to Portsmouth to spend Easter with Hairy’s family – lovely and relaxing and I’ll take a fiction book! I’ve just finished the penultimate book in the Game of Thrones series, only Dance with Dragons (the biggest one yet) to go and then I’ll be done with Westeros until the next one comes out.
Game of Thrones is a good concept, I like the world and direwolves are absolutely awesome but it seems like George Martin kind of hates women. Most of them aren’t given any sort of agency, and there’s a hella lotta rape (mostly implied) going on. I’m not saying don’t read it, but it is a bit of a slog to get through.
I made flapjack and didn’t burn it for once! Normally I end up with a layer of sad little charred sultanas (fan oven puts out all of my timings/what I’d normally set the oven to), but today is delicious and perfect. Apple, sultana and cinnamon. Yum yum 😀 And Hairy’s promised me steak tonight, so I’m very spoiled.
So, now comes the big question. It’s been about a week since I officially deleted my facebook account. Do I want to go back to it, as it can be useful at times? Even bigger – would anyone actually have noticed/missed me? Highly unlikely, so maybe I’ll carry on sawing off my nose to spite my own face.
I’ve lost all will to work. I know Hairy will be on his way home soon, and I still have reading and translation to do. Darn it all to heck! I’m fairly sure I’m starting to be boring now, so tara for tonight!
