I had my last exam today. This means I’m officially free of all university work unless I choose to go back and do further study, which is probably one of the scariest things I’ve ever written!
The exam was ok – not fabulously easy, nor fiendishly hard. It was done, then I toddled off to pay a library fine and write a couple of cover letters for a job in a shop called Blue Banana – alternative fashion kinda place, and one for a job as a waitress. Not exactly a shining career prospect I guess, but it’ll tide me over. Actually I’d quite like the job in Blue Banana – I could keep my piercing and start dyeing my hair again.
But anyway, I’ll be switching over from complaining about university deadline stresses into telling you how appallingly my job search is going. I’m not taking the interview in Leicester – I looked more closely into the travel, and it would take too long and cost too much for it to be feasible. So, I’m planning on applying for three jobs a day, signing up to Job seekers and doing pretty much whatever I can to get employed.
I can’t even begin to say how scary I’m finding all this – past four years as a student, no guaranteed job and we need to move in August. Hairy’s been brilliant and supported me for the past few weeks. Seems to think I have to be the centre of everything, an idea which I’m disabusing him of slowly but surely!
