Runes and Rhinestones

I'm a modern day Viking, navigating my way through a stormy sea of stuff.

Happy Friday!

on August 2, 2013

Yesterday was unequivocally a very good day. I spent most of the day packing, relaxing and having a pretty good time and then I met Hairy from work (involving a half mile sprint in 30 degree ickiness), and we went and got the keys for our new house πŸ˜€ For some reason, I keep thinking that the keys are adorable. I don’t even know why, but I love it a lot.

Then we grabbed some food which turned out to be my dinner – chicken, bread and a pint of milk and wandered along the canal together so Hairy could go and do bro night and I could go around and see one of my friends. I got back in at 2.45 and got up at 6.30 to make Hairy’s breakfast. I think I can be forgiven for not having done any serious cleaning/packing today… πŸ˜€

Last night was really amazing, as usual a reminder of why I keep people like these guys in my life. We chatted, laughed, watched Ted talks and plotted amazing ways of terrorising the Christian car park below. Mostly that involved a Jesus made of sweets and a rope ladder. My friend basically applied for a job for me – one of the questions they asked was about my most embarrassing moment. Earlier that day I had a phone call from Greenpeace, and I’d said “I’m unemployed, so I can’t really afford to give anything right now” and the other person had gone “Riiiiiiiiiiiight”. Cue me spluttering, apologising and sounding like a complete idiot and hanging up. Poor Greenpeace person! Basically, they phoned me and I shouted that I have no money at them. At least it’s honest, right?

And then we watched Sherlock, and I fell asleep on a beanbag and woke up as it ended covered in a blanket.

And I just got a new phone for free. Brilliant πŸ˜€ T-mobile phoned to see about upgrading my contract, figured that I’ve got the best one that I need and so have just renewed it for me. Then they phone me back two minutes later and say that for free, I can have a new phone! I like this a lot πŸ˜€

Life is going well. Things are good, Hairy and I have a beautiful new house that we get to furnish ourselves and I’m seeing more people that I like today after buying cleaning supplies for the flat. We need to do a thorough clean, but I’m leaving that until every thing’s been moved otherwise it’ll just get dirty again.

Happy Friday everybody! Got plans for the weekend?
