Runes and Rhinestones

I'm a modern day Viking, navigating my way through a stormy sea of stuff.

Hidey holes.

Tell us about the last thing you hid.

What was the last thing I hid? I think it must have been the photo album that I got Hairy for our third anniversary earlier this month. I hid it somewhere Hairy would never find it: in the wedding planning folder. Hairy got me a collection of the ultimate stories of Thor for our anniversary and hid it in the airing cupboard. I guess we hide where we think the other won’t check! We haven’t got anywhere with wedding planning recently and it makes me a bit sad. I want to get on and get stuff done, but it’s still too up in the air. Hairy’s parents and my parents are actually going to meet each other for the first time in January which I hope goes well.

I had a terrible habit (full of them I know) last year of hiding just as Hairy used to come home and then jump out on him, trying to make him jump. I’d hide in the cupboard, behind the bathroom door, in the wardrobe… It’s worked pretty well in making him completely paranoid at all times. It’s become a game that I try to make him jump as often as possible and it makes me giggle. I’ve been doing it while he’s in the shower by just quietly turning up in the bathroom and waiting until he turns around and freaks out. The best thing EVER I found out yesterday when he told me that the other day while I was out at work, he actually jumped while he was in the shower because he thought I’d somehow snuck in past the alarm and up the stairs and into the bathroom and was standing there.. Turns out it was the dressing gown and towel!

I don’t actually hide very much. I’m terrible at keeping surprises from Hairy and since i don’t live at home any more it’s easy to keep stuff hidden from my family. On the other hand, stuff is always hiding from me. I lose a lot of stuff by putting it in a “safe place” and then it runs away and hides elsewhere. Actually I hide teaspoons a lot. Or at least the fact that I’ve used the teaspoons to eat jam out of the jar. Bad habit, I know! I like to have good hiding places for my presents and they tend to be places that only I use.

How about you? Do you hide things often? If you do, what sort of thing do you hide and where?
