Hairy once told me that his family’s motto (no idea how he found this out) is “Late but earnest”. As a brand new member of their family, I feel like this basically describes me and my life. I’m always running a bit late, never on time or ahead of the curve but when I get something I really love it.
So, here goes. I’m a little late in joining up because my weekend has been filled with family again but I’m planning on doing the NaBloPoMo 2014, which means a post a day for the next month. This will be a challenge as I definitely haven’t done anything near that amount of writing in about a year, but hey ho. Late but earnest!
I’ve had a week of one of my brothers in law, and so I’m a little dead heading into a week of full day shifts at the tea rooms. I’m happy to be working extra hours, and I’m having great fun while learning how to barista, but I’m absolutely cream-crackered. The last week has been filled with nerdery upon nerdery, from re-subbing to World of Warcraft to Battlestar boardgames via a quick dip into the realms of roleplaying and DnD and a little beading and zentangle on the side.
There has been a lot of socialising as well: house parties, film nights, in laws and post work bonding drinks. I love the winter season because it always seems like the time when everyone wants to meet up, visit and do stuff. On the other hand, it’s expensive and exhausting! Ah, I’m complaining about nothing again.
Also some of the drama in my life has been resolved. I said recently that I was being tested for PCOS – I had the scan and while the results will have to wait until I speak to my doctor in a week or so, the ultrasound chappy said that everything looks normal. This means that Hairy and I still have a chance at having hairy little babies unless something else is wrong.
So here was my first contribution to the NaBloPoMo thingamajigger. It’s late, but earnest.
